Weekly classes

CURRENTLY FULL, but please get in touch if you don't mind coming occasionally, I can fit you in when people are away.

In my home studio in Wilpshire near Blackburn in Lancashire.

PAYG £19.00 per person for 2 hours + firing fee (£3/Kg)
Spaces are limited as it's a small workshop (4 people maximum)

TIME of SESSIONS 

Wednesdays 10.30-12.30

       Thursdays 10.30 - 12.30 & 7.15 - 9.15

LOYALTY SCHEME: Every 8 session, you get a discount! The scheme starts on the day of your first session and reset on the anniversary date or when you've attended 32 sessions, whichever comes first!

BEGINNERS: You will learn various hand-building techniques (pinching, modelling, slabbing, coiling) and make items such as a flower, an owl, a tea-light holder, a snowman, a vase, a mug, a plant pot etc.

 More advanced potters also welcome!

Please note no potter's wheel is available.

COVID-19 safety: Hand gel will be provided - please make use of it when coming in and during sessions. Don't come if you're unwell, even if it seems to be mild cold symptoms. Also let me know ASAP if you're diagnosed with Covid after your visit.

PAYMENT: It’s Pay-As-You-Go, but payment has to be at time of booking to secure your place.  Bank transfer is preferred. Paypal and bank card incur an additional fee of 50p per session. If you wish you may pay several sessions at once, they won't be linked to a specific date as long as you use them within 12 months.

CANCELLATIONS: Unfortunately, I feel I have to introduce this policy as it is very inconvenient when people don’t turn up or cancel at a short notice. If you cancel less than 2 days in advance, there will be a £5 cancellation fee.

One off classes

TIME of SESSIONS: By arrangement, outside of times of weekly classes. Some weekends available.

Some classes set on CraftCourses. Note the higher price due to the CraftCourses fee.

GROUPS/COUPLES/FAMILY sessions  -  2 hours (minimum 2 people, maximum 4).
£22.00 per person. Glazing session can be 90 mins (£15) or 2 hours (£19), decided on the day*.

Ideal for anniversaries - especially 9th as it's pottery anniversary. No wheel available though, so sorry, no 'Ghost' moment possible!

CHILDREN/FAMILY sessions - 90 minutes
£17.00 per person for making, another £15 for glazing about 3 weeks later*. (Extra half hour started charged at £5 extra.)
A shorter session, mostly aimed at children under 9 (each child to be accompanied by an adult helper). Older children 9 -14 to be accompanied by at least one participating adult.
* Alternatively, you can paint your piece at home (only suitable for decorative indoor items) or I can glaze it for you (single colour, price varies according to piece).

£5pp deposit, might be more for sessions longer than 2hrs. Non refundable if cancellation is less than a week (weekends, evenings) or two days (week day time).

One off theme examples

No previous experience required.
Note your work will need collecting after firing.

Make a ceramic Rooster or elephant  (day) Suitable for 16+ Please contact me for price.
Note your work will not be glazed. Can be painted with acrylic paints or book a glazing session.

10.30am - 3.30pm, bring your own pack lunch.

Make a ceramic tortoise (2 hours) Suitable for 5+
You'll use underglazes to add some colour to your creation, and I'll put a coat of clear glaze if required (£6 extra).

Fairy door (90 mins) Suitable for 5+
For all children big and small! Make a fun fairy or elf door to put in the garden or house. Loads of designs to choose from or you can let your imagination run wild! Templates provided as well as step by step instructions.
You'll use underglazes to add some colour to your creation, and I'll put a coat of clear glaze if required (£2.00 extra).

Under 9s to be helped by an adult. Free for adults who help and don't make their own door. Maximum 2 adult helpers each session, but I can also help one child.

Christmas workshop: Snowman! (2 hours) Suitable for 7+

You'll be making a Ceramic Snowman using the pinching method, and possibly a couple of Christmas ornaments with slabs. You'll paint them with underglazes. After firing, if required, I'll add a coat of clear glaze to make them shiny (£3.00 extra pay on the day just for the snowman).
